Why I am a therapist: I come from people who can understand how things work and are made; we are problem solvers. While most of them have preferred machines and cars and fixing or making them, I am passionate about people. I love helping people find hope and solutions for eating food, getting through meal times, soothing their nervous systems, and learning how to recognize and honor their physical, mental, spiritual and emotional needs.
What excites me as a therapist: I love hearing my clients say they finally have ways to express what they are experiencing. This decreases their sense of isolation, self-loathing and interpersonal tension significantly. Then I see them empowered through practical tools and skills development, and I am really energized.
By the way: I know what it feels like to not understand what’s happening, why it’s happening or what to do about it - I’m late-identified AuDHD (autistic and ADHD)! Life makes so much more sense now!
